On June 8-11, our Jr. and Sr. High groups will be heading to Waxahachie, TX for Infusion, which is summer camp for the Antioch network of churches. Your students will have a blast and will not want to miss out on this amazing camp. Students always come back excited, energized, and searching for more of what God has for them.

Total cost for Infusion is $255. A $50 deposit is due by Wednesday, May 23.

Volunteer Appreciation Fair
Welcome, Welcome, Welcome to the 2012 Antioch Volunteer Appreciation Fair. You’ve invested so much of your time, energy, and resources into serving Antioch and the Kingdom, and we want to show our appreciation to you. We all know that nothing says honor and appreciation like an evening full of fun activities, funnel cakes, and hilarious entertainment.

Everything is free to you and your family. All you have to do is register yourself and every family member coming with you before May 14.

If you didn’t receive your email invitation, please contact the ministry leader you serve with today and they can assist you.

Location
The Volunteer Appreciation Fair will be held on Friday, May 18, and will be held at Andrews Park, just north of the Antioch Offices. The main stage will be located at the Amphitheater with activies in the surrounding lawn area.

Time
Games and activities will begin around 6PM and will run till 9PM, but you’ll really want to be there by 7:30PM for the big show!

What to Expect
Fun, fun, and more FUN! It’s literally going to be amazing. We don’t want to give away all of the surprises, but we’ll tell you this, you’ll want to have your pitching arms warmed up and be ready to give your favorite staff member a dunk!

We’ll have plenty of fair food and beverages for you and your family, games, prizes, and entertainment. And best of all, it won’t cost you anything!

What to Wear
Let’s just say, prizes will be awarded to the couple dressed in their finest “Fair” attire. We would love to see your creative take on “Fair” attire. Some might choose a country theme, but we imagine some of you could sport a rockin’ 80′s mullet!

When parents dedicate their children to Jesus, promising to raise them up to love and follow Him, it’s a powerful thing. It’s even more powerful to know that as parents, you’re not alone, you have the support, help, and encouragement from your community.

On May 13, Antioch will host our semi-annual Baby Dedication Sunday. We encourage you to invite your family and friends to join us during our Celebration Services as we surround you as parents to dedicate your children to the Lord.

To participate in the Baby Dedication, you must sign-up to attend the Baby Dedication Class, which will teach you the Biblical basis for dedicating  your children, a walk-through of what will happen that Sunday morning, and more information you need to know about that Sunday.

Antioch Family,

I pray you are all safe from the storms yesterday.  There is obviously a concern for new storms developing in the area later today.  Let’s be in prayer for God’s protection for our city and state.

We have been informed that there was some roof damage at Sooner Theatre yesterday.  Until a city engineer is able to come out and assess the damage, they are not allowing any meetings to be held inside.  We checked into the possibility of meeting at the Performing Arts Center tomorrow, but it is not available.

Because of this we will be canceling our Sunday morning worship service tomorrow.  We are encouraging everyone to meet with others in their Lifegroups tomorrow morning for a time of worship and prayer.

Also, our EQUIP Day Training School is leaving for a 3-week outreach to Cape Town, South Africa on Monday.  We were going to be praying over them during the services tomorrow, so please take some time tomorrow to pray for their protection and for God to move in and through them in a powerful way during their trip.  We are so proud of each of them and expectant for what God will do.

Once again, Antioch is heading outdoors for Church At The Park. We invite everyone to come to Wells Andrews Park Amphitheater on Sunday, April 29 at 10AM.

Kids Activities

Church at the Park is a great time for families to worship together. As you arrive, we will have handout bags with activities and fun things to do for the children. Make sure you grab each of your children a bag.

Baptisms

One of the best parts about Church At The Park is our baptisms. We love celebrating with new believers in baptism. If you want to participate in baptism, please email info@antiochnorman.com to sign-up and you will be contacted with further instructions. If a child wishes to be baptized, we have a required class for them to attend before Church At The Park. To register a child, please email kids@antiochnorman.com.

On Easter Sunday, April 8, we’re asking the question, “What Now?” In light of what Jesus has done for us, what is our response?

Steve and Wendy Backlund serve on staff at Bethel Church in Redding, CA while also traveling all over the world through their ministry, IGNITED HOPE.  The Backlunds have been friends with Antioch Norman and Antioch Ministries International for several years through their anointed teachings on the joy and hope that comes through a relationship with Jesus.

We are honored to have them with us during our services on Sunday. Please join us at either 9AM or 11AM as the Backlunds, and their team, minister to us.

We are so thankful to God and excited to begin meeting for our Sunday Worship Celebrations at the Embassy Suites Conference Center beginning November 6th. Services will be held at 10AM in the Oklahoma Ballroom E. This temporary location will serve as a wonderful facility for our worship services as well as provide incredible accommodations for our Children’s Ministry. Here are a few details you need to know.

Directions
The Embassy Suites Conference Center is located off of 24th Ave Northwest directly across from the Super Target. It is easily accessible from I-35 on the Robinson East exit.

Parking
There is an abundance of parking at the Embassy Suites Conference Center. The best place to park and enter will be close to the northeast entrance. We encourage you to use the Conference Center Main Entrance and the Northeast Entrance. If you enter through the hotel lobby, no problem, you’ll just be closer to the coffee shop!

Children
Kid’s Community and Promised Land will be hosted in the Oklahoma Ballrooms A-D. We definitely encourage parents to park close to the northeast entrance. Because we place a high value on the security of our children, all of our classrooms are located in secure locations next to the main meeting space.

We have a new location! On Sundays, Oct. 16 & 23, we will be meeting in the gymnasium of Norman North High School. This is the same location where we currently host our younger children each Sunday. We are excited about this change of venue and it will present us with some new opportunities.

We do have one piece of advice for you. Instead of parking in the lot in front of the PAC, we encourage you to drive around to the south side of Norman North, where there is a large parking area available closer to the main entrance.

On October 30, we’re once again taking church to the Park. Invite your friends and neighbors to join us for service from 10AM to 11AM at Wells Andrew Park, just north of the downtown library. It’s going to be an awesome time of worship, testimonies, and baptisms.

Following the service we will host a free chili lunch for everyone, so make plans to stay after the service for free lunch and a great time of connecting with everyone.

The Vine is an interactive and fun event for parents and children to learn about the upcoming curriculum that will be taught in Kid’s Community and Promised Land. We will be giving you important information so that the lessons learned on Sunday can be reinforced at home by parents.

The Sing is a gathering of people citywide for an evening to sing and practice the presence of God. This time of celebration is for anyone and everyone. Children 5th grade and under are invited to join us at the Star Skate skating rink on Lindsey St. in Norman on Sunday, August 21, for a Skate Back To School Party. We want you to dress up as your favorite superhero, or as a princess to participate in an amazing costume contest. Don’t forget to bring a friend either. The kid with the best costume and the kid who brings the most friends will win prizes! The party starts at 6PM, so don’t be late! Cost is only $5 per child.

A group of our Young Adults will be heading to the Dominican Republic in just a few weeks and they need your support. Consider helping them by participating in one, or all, of these fundraisers.

CoffeeHouse – Friday, July 22
The Dominican Republic team is hosting a coffeehouse/worship night at our Main St. Location on Friday, July 22, from 7PM – 10PM. The event is free to enter, donations are accepted. Coffee and desserts will be available by donation.

T-Shirts for Sale
The Dominican Republic t-shirts are available to buy on a first come, first serve basis. They are $15 and are available this Friday, July 22, at the CoffeeHouse at our Main St. Location, as well as the next couple of Sunday mornings.

Penny Competition
To help send our Young Adults to the Dominican Republic, we are having a healthy, and fair, competition between the kids, youth, college, young adult, families, and adult LifeGroups. We want to see who can raise the most amount of pennies for a prize. The competition begins this Sunday, so come with pennies in hand. Anything other than pennies counts against your total amount, so copper only!

To help our youth go to Infusion, they are hosting several fundraisers to help pay for their expenses. If you would like to donate directly to the youth group, please e-mail Grant Wortman to discuss the details.

Baked Goods and Craft Sale – This Sunday
This Sunday, the students will be selling baked goods and crafts in the lobby at the PAC to help fund their way to Infusion. Cash, check, and credit cards will be accepted.

Youth For Hire
If you have chores or special projects around the house that you could use help with, consider hiring one of our students between now and next Wednesday to assist you and help send them to camp. E-mail Grant Wortman for details.

We are very excited and thankful to get to announce our first album release for Antioch Norman.

During the Awaken 2011 conference we were able to record all of the worship sessions, capturing some great moments of worship. With the help of some great friends, we’ve put together a live worship album from Awaken 2011. The album is for sale around the world via iTunes or Amazon MP3. We hope to also produce a limited-run hard-copy version to have for sale at our church as well. We are so blessed to have had this opportunity and hope that the music blesses all that hear it. We’d love to thank a few people who helped make this a reality. Kendall Combes and Kevin Lively played a huge role in recording and producing our album. Without them this wouldn’t have been a reality.
